The Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated  Disciplines (FRMK) celebrated the impressive performances of Moroccan athletes at the Karate 1 Premier League held in Paris, France, from January 26 to 29.

Morocco’s participation in the competition was marked by the gold medal won by champion Said Oubaya (-67 kg) in the final with a score of 9-1 against Italian Luca Maesca.

Oubaya and his coach spoke to Morocco World News following the Moroccan’s spectacular performances. They highlighted their joy and pride in honorably representing Morocco on the world stage while expressing gratitude to the federation’s president for his support.

“I’m so happy for this victory,” the champion told Morocco World News, extending his thanks to the FRMK president, coaches, and family for the support and advice.

During the event, the National Technical Director Yannick Piersotte emphasized the importance of the victory, attributing it to an action plan developed by the federation.

Commenting on Oubaya’s performance, Piersotte said that the athlete approached the competition with dedication and determination to win the gold medal.

He also stressed the Moroccan champions’ potential to achieve more spectacular performances in upcoming tournaments.

FRMK’s goal this year is to place Moroccan senior karate in the top 10 in the world.

Bouchra Lakhal, the Secretary General of the federation,  emphasized Morocco’s potential in Karate, stating that the country’s “distinguished” participation in the Paris championships will improve its standing on the continental and global stages.
